Pisces New Moon 2021
This month’s NEW MOON falls in the Water sign of Pisces at 23 degrees 04’ March 13, 2021 @ 3:21 AM MST/5:21 AM EST.
Pisces is a dreamy sign. This New Moon is the best time to surrender to your dreams, explore the unchartered waters of your imagination, or dive into the boundless Cosmic ocean of inspirational compassion.
Pisces is a slippery fish. It is the sign of compassion and unconditional love at its zenith; it is trickery and deception at its nadir. Represented by two bound fishes traveling in opposite directions, it is hard to grasp. But one thing is for sure with Pisces; rarely is it what it seems. I remember back when Pisces entered Neptune in 2012. An astrology group I belonged to was discussing what the shift would mean globally. I remember musing it indeed could be the dawn of world peace and loving compassion. I got laughed at and told to factor in human nature. But such is Pisces, optimistic, if not naïve, belief.
In the last eight years, with Neptune in its home sign of Pisces, we have seen disinformation and lying morph into a pseudo-art form. So much so that, at times, we could not discern which way was up or down. The rabbit hole of conspiracy theories grew more convoluted, and alternative facts became vogue. We here in the States had way too many political bald-faced lies offered as truth, and this was not the kind of political lying we were used to, but blatant mistruths, checkable whoppers, and irrefutable wrongs. It has been enough to confuse, mislead, trick, and disorient. It still seems as if there are two realities, like the two fish who swim in opposite directions from each other. This dualistic illusion attempts to zap hope and compassion while inviting fatigue. But things are not always what they seem! And from this platform, we dive into this Pisces New Moon.
The Sun entered Pisces on February 19th and begins March there. It will shift into Aries on March 20th, marking the first day of spring 2021. The Pisces New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon conjunct each other, signaling it is time to plant new emotional ideas. This particular New Moon conjoins the Sun, Venus, and Neptune, all in Pisces. There is the potential for that loving, compassionate forgiveness in self and others I initially toyed with way back in 2012. However, it is possible only if we reach for the zenith of this sign. If we continue spiraling down the rabbit hole, we prolong miscommunications and move further from compassion and unity. Mercury moves from Aquarius into Pisces on the 16th, increasing kindheartedness or confusion, dependent on where your focus alights.
The Sabian symbol of this New Moon is “The tiny island seems lost in the broad ocean, but its happy inhabitants have created a world all their own.” What a delightful image! For us ALL to be happy, we live peacefully with each other within prescribed boundaries. Imagine that. I suspect we are inclusive and compromise to avoid conflict, and we communicate, which includes listening to each other. After all, the inhabitants are happy, not screaming in each other’s faces. This New Moon then is an opportunity to be more communicative and more compassionate with each other while respecting individual boundaries.
Pisces is the sign of merging and dissolving back into the One, the great cosmic ocean. Sun, Moon, and Neptune conjunct, and there may be some difficulty recognizing boundaries; add in Venus, and relationships become involved. Where are you losing yourself in relationships? Can you merge with another and still be an individual? What is this tender Universe trying to communicate at this time? Use your intuition to find out and allow the flow of this Piscean time to carry you downstream to the place where you want to land. Stop fighting the cosmic currents; they foster Soul growth. Embrace your limitlessness! Explore your dreams and listen to the whispers of angels.
This March New Moon is strong in water, so you may find yourself easily emotional; let the tears flow as they will. Part of seeding anew is watering so that things will grow! Embrace Pisces' compassion for yourself and allow for healing transformation. Use your emotions to creatively communicate through poetry or music, write in your dream journal, or draw the images you receive.
Mercury begins in Aquarius and then enters Pisces on the 16th. Use intellectual Mercury to know which stream you want to float down, confusion or compassion. Allow Pisces Mercury to cleanse your erroneous perceptions, especially those concerning being an individual within the collective, or maybe send you down another stream altogether. Ask yourself, how do I better play well with others to create that ideal island life, then listen for the guidance. Mercury is in its fall in Pisces, so you may get swamped trying to figure this out, just an FYI. Go with the current to get there. Who knows? Maybe you will discover a secret third stream or that the two streams both merge into the One? Or perhaps they are different versions of the same stream? Oh, the endless possibilities when we go WITH the flow.
Mars moves from Taurus into Gemini on the 5th of March, speeding things up a bit, although you may be unsure which way you want to proceed. This energy likes to be on the move, so expect some restlessness and find a way to ground yourself. Get moving to release the potential tension, but do continue to stay safe, please!
The social planets, Jupiter/Saturn in Aquarius, continue to demand social justice. Aquarius Saturn (social convention) continues to square off against Taurus Uranus (steady progressive change). Pluto continues to transit Capricorn mandating responsible transformation and mature use of power.
