Scorpio Full Moon 2021
This month’s SUPER FULL MOON falls in the Water sign SCORPIO at 7 degrees 06’ April 26th, 2021 @ 8:31 PM MST/11:31 PM EDT.

Welcome, April Pink Super Full Moon! So sorry you are not going to be pink in color. That would be awesome! Alas, the "Pink Moon" is just the name given for April's Full Moon. The "Super" moniker applies when the Moon is at least 90% of Perigee. Perigee is the point in the Moon's orbit nearest to the Earth. At Perigee, the Moon appears closer and brighter. Super Moons make for a more intense Moon cycle; as Scorpio is already fierce, this coming Full Moon will be as well. But then again, Scorpio does get a bad rap.
Some consider Scorpio dark and dangerous and associate it with death and destruction. Ruled by Pluto, Scorpio naturally resides in the 8th house of sex, death, and taxes (hence the associations). But there is substantially more to Scorpio and Pluto than meets the eye. With Scorpio, you have to dive deep to get to the bottom of the matter. If you remember when we first received the long-awaited transmissions from New Horizon, big, scary, destructive Pluto showed us its heart! How symbolic for such a misunderstood and misrepresented planet. Loving transformation is, after all, the highest use of Pluto-ruled Scorpio energy.
Scorpio energy is about self-empowerment and transformative, cataclysmic change. Spiritually, one way to look at Pluto Scorpio is to recognize that beginnings and endings are essentially the same. Death is simply the birth of something else, and birth is death to whatever came before. Instead of fearing the darkness that until recently has shrouded Pluto, perhaps it is time to embrace the heart of change it also embodies. It is a transformational change that Scorpio/Pluto spiritually represents, soul alchemy, the symbolic death of our lower self which allows us to be reborn into a more substantial, gravid self. Heavy stuff for sure, but precisely the type of stuff Pluto Scorpio rules. In the end, transformative, self-empowering change IS loving. It is part of the birth-death-rebirth cycle Scorpio represents so well.
Scorpio Moon is an inward, reflective, moody, private Moon that can lash out, whether provoked or not. It is sensitive and temperamental. With the Full Moon so "super," be aware of more sensitivity in yourself too, as within, so without. Take an extra moment to count to ten before speaking your mind freely and without a filter. One of the tenets in Buddhism is "right speech," which includes asking yourself if what you are saying would be valuable. Not to say that voicing your opinion is unhelpful, BUT would the person you speak to benefit? Currently, in the world, we are very quick to offer our opinions without being asked. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…breathe deep, then speak.
The Sun is in Taurus, conjunct Uranus, Venus, and Mercury in Taurus, ALL opposite the Scorpio Full Moon. Just be aware that relationship energy will be high and sudden emotional breakthroughs, or outbursts, are possible. The stagnation in our relationships has the opportunity to shift and lovingly transform, provided we do not kill the messenger, or just blow up. Free will and choice dictate how we use this energy! The strong Taurus (fixed Earth) energy is square Saturn in Aquarius (fixed Air) energy forcing us to consider if what we think we know is true. Scorpio (fixed Water) has a way of penetrating through the nonsense and honing in on the truth, and sometimes that truth is very uncomfortable. Scorpio energy can handle discomfort, but sometimes it makes people squirm.
This Taurus/ Scorpio energy creates a T-square (challenging aspect) to the Saturn energy that will shine light into any dark places in need of exposure. This aspect helps illuminate (Full Moon) the hidden bits and pieces in our thinking that keep us from understanding the lessons we need to move forward, unstuck. Our fixations, fixed ideas, fixed emotions, and fixed beliefs may all come to the surface, highlighting whatever needs to be released or whatever stands in the way of personal empowerment and transformation. What deep darkness needs to come to light? What emotional wounds need healing? Where is the pain located that needs releasing? This Scorpio Moon is sure to reveal.
I have mentioned before releasing the tension of a T-square involves looking at the opposite component, in this case, 13 degrees Leo (opposite Saturn). The Sabian symbol for this degree is "An old Sea Captain rocking on the porch of his cottage." The image evokes feelings of quiet, deliberate reflection, of taking stock. If this Full Moon overwhelms, perhaps loving yourself is in order? Why not conjure up the Sea Captain image and sit a spell in contemplation?
Interestingly Mars in Cancer makes some favorable aspects at this time. So, warrior Mars is helpful to get to work and take effective action versus conflictual confrontation; this is a perk. Mars might not let the messenger get killed, yay! Aquarius Jupiter aids him in support of the Moon and its highest potential, spiritual transformation. Remember, count, breathe deeply, and then speak.
Neptune in Pisces may cloud some of the insights that show up, but if you intuitively test them, the clouds should dissipate, and the messages become clear. Pluto, the ruler of this Scorpio Moon, has soft aspects, suggesting that the changes that come about are for the highest good, no matter how uncomfortable they may feel. Empowerment understands change happens for us; victimhood believes change happens to us. Choose wisely.
