Gemini New Moon 2021
This month’s NEW MOON ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE falls in the Air sign of Gemini at 19 degrees 47’ June 10, 2021 @ 3:52 AM MST/6:52 AM EDT.
Look through the illusion to reveal the greater Divine message. Gemini, the sign of the twins, has much to teach us about our duality, or more precisely, our quaternity, as there were two sets, Castor and Pollux, the males and Helen and Clytaemnestra, the females. Gemini represents a wholeness that includes male and female, human and divine. Who knew?
The NEW MOON on June 10th will also be an Annular Solar Eclipse, the complement to the Lunar Eclipse we just experienced toward the end of May at the Sagittarius Full Moon. This Gemini NEW MOON eclipse is exactly conjunct Gemini Mercury (retrograde) and square Pisces Neptune. These aspects point to a LOT of confusing information or perhaps outright lying and may lead to disappointment or surrender, a giving up the ghost as they say. Both Sagittarius and Gemini are about learning and communicating lies/truths in search of knowledge/Wisdom, so expect both to be highlighted and teased out. This New Moon can also be a time of Divine messages and Celestial connections.
The Sun begins the month of June in Gemini and moves into Cancer on June 20th, the Summer Solstice. The Air of Gemini will yield to the Water of Cancer at the Solstice, ushering a more emotional and fluid time. Summertime officially begins when the Sun enters Cancer, and the days that follow begin their long journey back into the night, shortening as they march along. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts; the days will soon be getting shorter!
We begin the month with three planets moving in a retrograde motion and end the month with five “reversed.” Summertime will feel as if things have slowed down and may even feel like they are moving backward. Not to worry, this is a time to turn inward and bask in the reversal of fortunes. As always, the cosmic cycles push and pull, reverse and correct, challenge and yield as time marches forward. As always, this too shall pass.
Mercury begins the month as one of the retrograde planets, mussing up communications and playing with our plans. Simply being aware is to forego frustrations of any type. The alterations merely need to be adjusted to and laughed off. They are a simple reminder not to take the Universe personally, reflect when making plans, and adapt when needed. Mercury goes direct June 22nd, at which time maybe we can understand our part in all the fuss and commotion. How do you create your reality with your beliefs? So much trickster energy in the air, floating on the winds!
Venus, the planet of relationships, begins June in Gemini, moves into Cancer on June 3rd, and then transits into Leo on June 28th. This movement through three signs means that the miscommunication of Mercury retrograde will be experienced on a couple of different levels, intellectually at first, then emotionally, and finally, culminating passionately in our heart centers. Cancer Venus squares the asteroid Chiron (wounded healer) in Aries at the New Moon, perhaps making us take things a little too personally. If you find yourself in conflict with someone you love, take the time to work out the potential miscommunication at hand, taking care not to let hurt feelings make you strike out on your own. If you find yourself in conflict with someone you are not close to, walk away. The muddled communications confusion of this month will be hard to clarify, and you simply may not get your point across. It is best sometimes to leave things unsaid. As your mother may have taught you, “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” There will be plenty of opportunities to speak up and share your views once the air clears and emotions run smoothly. Tuning in to the whispers of the Angels soothes the Soul. It is an excellent opportunity to heal those stories that no longer serve.
Mars begins the month of June in Cancer and moves into Leo on June 12th. Mars in Cancer is much more passive than Mars in Leo. The Mars in Leo energy is more passionate and self-focused. Prepare to move forward with a child-like burst of energy and the potential for more fun. However, this energy misdirected can result in selfish, willful behavior prone toward temper tantrums. Ugh! Use your actions wisely. And, as the Moon rules Cancer and represents the Mother archetype, again, heed mother’s advice about getting along with others. If you can’t love others at the moment, love yourself.
Jupiter previewed itself in Pisces and remains there this month. However, it does turn retrograde on June 20th at the Solstice. So this reversal may put the easy-going, peaceful feeling on hold toward the end of June. Easy come, easy go as they say. Not to fret, it will come back at the end of the year and stay throughout most of 2022!
Saturn remains in Aquarius and is retrograde the entire month of June. In addition to its retrogradation, it continues to be square Taurus Uranus all June, exact on the 15th. In reflecting on this 2021 Aquarius Saturn/Taurus Uranus square and the challenges it is encouraging us to meet, I offer this:
Ask yourself the following question and allow the heavens to answer –
How do I responsibly tap into the Cosmic energetic grid and help shift the collective values of our beautiful Earth in a way that will bring light for all humanity, beginning with my words, thoughts, and deeds?
Not an easy question, but I do believe we are to rise and meet this challenge in ways that celebrate our individuality while remembering our connection. We all have the responsibility to steward this planet we call our home. So let’s get to it! But remember, any answers that come may be a bit muddled or uncertain as they filter through, so listen intently and discern capital “T” truths. The uncertainty will clear, and we have another exact square of this energy that will allow us to clean up and clarify the Saturn/Uranus struggle before the year is over. The beauty of the Universe is that it gives us multiple opportunities to get it right, even in times when it is urgent to correct course! Whew!? BREATHE.
Neptune continues in Pisces but joins the retrograde parade on June 25th. This retrograde motion has the potential to further cloudy Divine guidance, leading to more confusion or illusions, OR it has the potential (when used personally, introspectively) to clarify with spiritual certainty, AKA Divine messaging. The way to discern which is which? Which answer brings you PEACE? If the message you are receiving brings fearful anxiety or seems too good to be true, it is clouded with illusion somehow. Neptune in Pisces is peaceful, easy-flowing energy that surrenders with minimal resistance, trusting that all is right in the Universe. It is idealistic and dreamy in its purest form, but this is foreign on the physical, earthly plane and can easily lead to disappointment or getting duped. When muddled, it is the desire to escape reality if reality feels too harsh. Proceed with caution as this energy substitutes fantasy for the real thing if one is not alert. As part of the collective, it will be up to you to discern which answers seem unrealistic and which ones illuminate greater wisdom. Honesty is the best policy, another Mother quote!
Capricorn Pluto is retrograde the entire month of June. Exercise responsible power personally and inwardly to capitalize on this energy. The abuse of power is possible, and “might” does not always make “right.” This Capricorn Pluto retrograde time is excellent to reflect upon the true meaning of power and what types of actions are honorable and result in personal empowerment. Here in the United States, this energy demands we re-evaluate our definition of power, expand its meaning, and transform its structure to include ALL citizens. We have an opportunity to elevate our country by empowering us all. It requires work and discipline to change us to our highest good, but it is worth the conscious effort. Time for some heavy lifting, begin.
As I said, June begins with three retrograde planets and ends with five, so it may feel like a backward slide of sorts. As NEW MOONS are for sowing new emotional territory, and this NEW MOON is in Gemini, it may be wise to lighten up if there is miscommunication and start planting new communication skills. Remember, because this is a Solar Eclipse, you will have six months to learn those new skills. It is also a good time to learn about and integrate the quaternity of the twins, male and female, human and Divine, to bridge better the current polarization within the world and ourselves.
